The ATO works with Taiwan trade associations to assist and coordinate buying teams to the United States. Buying teams bring selected importers to the United States to purchase U.S. food and agricultural products and participate in food related shows and events. Together with the Taipei Importers & Exporters Association, the ATO recruits and coordinates an annual trade team to the NRA food show in Chicago. These missions frequently visit other U.S. states, production areas and companies en route or on their return to Taiwan.
